Rome vs. U.S.A.

How is the United States of America like Rome? Do you think the U.S. will ever fall as Rome did? Explain-what will cause the fall or what will prevent the fall? If the U.S. ever does fall, what type of civilization do you think will take its place?

Do you think the United States is like Rome? I have never thought about the idea until now. There are so many signs indicating how much we are alike. I would even say we are a sister to the Roman Empire. Our fore fathers and leaders even had an empire, like Rome, in mind when they established this country.

Consequently, can this country potentially fall like the Roman Empire did? I believe the collapse of America is very possible. Civilization in Rome flourished for over a thousand years! America has only been a nation for two-hundred thirty eight years. Since we are so much like Rome, shouldn't we learn from their mistakes?

Mistakes. Every country has made mistakes. America, like Rome, has been well known for meddling in other countries business. Americans have always been very arrogant, thinking we can fix other countries. In reality, we are so mangled ourselves, always trying to fix and protect other countries, when it is the U.S. that needs peace with ourselves and others. Rome was very similar, in that they would send mercenaries and soldiers to other places. Sending out mercenaries and soldiers caused many of their people to either be captured or assassinated. Therefore, I think going to war and causing conflicts with other countries is eventually going to cause the downfall of the U.S.A.

Subsequently, the decline of the United States would cause it to go back to a time of no civilization and no government. It would even make technology come to a halt. Now that technology is all the human race knows, how will people react when they are unable to use technology? How will people feel when they are unable to just pick up a phone and call someone? We will go back to sending letters by horse. Electricity will also probably vanish. Lights would once again come from candles and laterns. In the chaos of it all, violence would take place. Vandals, extremists, rebels, and radicals would rule. Civilization would reset itself back to before Americans were a civilized people. That is how I think life would be if the U.S. ever yielded.
